He was than interviewed by Paula Hunt from the San Antonio Express News on 12/06/06 to discuss his views on the safety of breast implants. On 12/08/06 Dr. Decherd took part in a live interview with host Jack Riccardi on the popular San Antonio radio station KTSA to discuss liposuction and when it is a good choice. In February of 2007, Dr. Decherd was interviewed for an article on Juvederm that was featured on cosmeticsurgery.com. This summer, Dr. Decherd was interviewed by Miranda Koerner with Prime Time and The Medical Patriot in the article “The risk of plastic surgery for teenagers,” published June 28. Dr. Decherd offered his viewpoint that “Part of being a good surgeon is knowing when not to operate.” Most recently, Dr. Decherd was interviewed by Kelly Goff for the article “Carving a New You” in the July/August edition of San Antonio Woman regarding rapid recovery after breast augmentation. Seen as a source for up to date answers surrounding controversial issues in plastic surgery by the media at large, he is also highly respected by his peers because of his reputation as a man of integrity, credentials and expertise in plastic surgery.
